In bible God gave 7 most important festivals for Jews to celebrate. You can read about that in book of Leviticus These Feasts are symoblic representation of what God will do till the end of the world. Also All these feast are symbolic representation of Messiah's life in this world. The first and most important festival for Jews is Passover. It is a celebration of Deliverance from bondage. Jesus Christ also died as a sacrifice for the whole world's sin during the passover celebration of his time. He was called the lamb of God. Even today we remember that as Good Friday, a day to remember his sacrifice for us. Even in traditional churches we hear sermons on the 7 words that Jesus spoke from Cross. We interpret many meaningfull ideologies based on the words that he spoke. But for your surprise Jesus was just humming a age old Psalms written by King David. Which gives the insight of Messiah's life on earth. It is Psalms 22 let us mediate on it.
The below should have been the right order in which Jesus spoke from Cross.
1. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? - Psalms 22:1
This is a cry of David not of Christ. Jesus was sinless from his Birth so God never forsake him. We should have a clear understanding on this. Jesus wanted to tell everyone around him that He was the Messiah that David wrote in his Psalms. Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34. tells us about this incident.
2. All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads; Psalms 22:7
Jesus knew that every one will mock at him and question his Spirituality. so only he said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." Luke 23:34
3. On you(God) was I cast from my birth, and from my mother's womb you have been my God. Psalms 22:10
Jesus was the Word of God and God formed him in his mother's womb,At this instance of this verse he remembers his Mother who is going to fell lonely after his death so only he should have said "Woman, this is your son." John 19:26
4.my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; Psalms 22:15
When he recited this verse he should have really felf thirsty so he said "I thirst." John 19:28
5.For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him. Psalms 22:24
When the thief asked him of his repentance Jesus told that he will also come to paradise when Jesus comes back at his millenium reign. "Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in Paradise."
6. those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever! Psalms 22:26
Those you seek Jesus will come near to God because we have the same spirit of God that was in Jesus. "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Luke 23:46
7. he has done it. Psalms 22:31
"It is finished;" John 19:30 Jesus gave his body as sacrifice and God had accepted that because that was the perfect sacrifice.
